Salvation
What is salvation?

Salvation is an encounter with God in which a person experiences a change in their heart and life. This is what Jesus was speaking about in John 3 when he told Nicodemas, "You must be born again." Once you have experienced salvation, according to 1 Corinthians 5:17, "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Why do you need salvation?

Since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden humanity has been separated from God. We are living under the curse of sin. Every person born is born a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

We cannot work our way back to God, we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory. We need salvation because according to Romans 6:23 we know that, "the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Wages are earned, by our disobedience to God we will earn death, but the second part of the verse gives us hope, it says that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord!

Salvation is a gift! You cannot earn it, through the death of Jesus we are given the free gift of salvation by faith! And through His resurrection from the dead we know that we will live forever with Him in heaven!

How do I receive salvation?

It is very simple. First, you must realize that you are a sinner and that you by your sins are separated from God. Second, you only need to pray and ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to come and take control of your life. This does not mean all of your problems will vanish, but it does mean you can bring your problems to a loving heavenly Father. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

Romans 10:9-10, That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Lord Jesus, I know that you died for me and that on the third day you rose again. I know that I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, change my life, make me new. I give my life to you Lord. I love you, thank you for saving me! In Jesus' name - Amen.
